Cantons unis de Latulipe-et-Gaboury

Présentation

Latulipe is situated on the shores of the Fraser River and the Lac-des-Quinze. Its proximity to the forest and the many bodies of water offers an exceptional quality of life to any lover of the joie de vivre. It was around the end of the first period of settlement of Témiscamingue that Monsignor Élie Anicet Latulipe, first bishop of Haileybury and leader in the Quebec and Ontario Témiscamingue development, gave his name to the municipality. In 1910, the first settlers lived mainly from agriculture and forestry development. Built in 1932 and declared historic monument in 2007, the Landry covered bridge is situated on the range 9 west road. On the shores of Bois Lake, the park that bears the same name offers citizens, visitors and campers a rendez-vous with the beauty of the Témiscamingue forest alongside a sandy beach. At the heart of the village, a boat slip gives access to hundreds of kilometers of navigable waterways.
