Maison du Frère-Moffet
Présentation
Come learn about one of Témiscamingue’s greatest legends: Father Moffet.Throughout a storytelling tour, relive the early development of a new land of colonization. Thanks to the resolute and obstinate temper of this great man – who dared to defy his superior – the region laid the foundations of its agricultural potential. As you visit the house that Father Moffet built with his own hands in 1881, you soon figure out that the man was quite a character! A historical monument, it is the oldest standing home in Abitibi-Témiscamingue. In 2009, it received a regional laureate for Tourist Attraction in the category 'less than 100,000 visitors'. The taxi bike ride through Ville-Marie is a must. Let the guide take you around and tell you funny and serious anecdotal stories. Learn about the people who shaped the history of Ville-Marie. This guided tour is also a fascinating and ecological journey into the past.
