Senneterre

Présentation

The Municipality of Senneterre, on the shores of the majestic Bell River, is a genuine paradise for hunters and fishermen who enjoy each year one of the region's many outfitters. It stands out as a nature destination of choice. By its location, Senneterre is an important crossroad. The only passenger train station of Abitibi-Témiscamingue is located in Senneterre. Visitors can take an independent city tour with the help of a leaflet explaining its history and heritage. The city has a boat ramp located in the heart of downtown for sailing in the Bell River as well as a 4,2 km bike path running all the way to Mount Bell. At the end of June, lumberjacks take over the city for the Festival forestier while, come winter, snowmobilers congregate to one of the main gateways of the region.
