7 July 2009

Tourisme Abitibi-Témiscamingue, in collaboration with the Fédération des pourvoiries du Québec, welcomed with open arms the film crew of the very acclaimed TV program Mordu de la pêche (Fishing Adventurer). "This promotional alliance all seemed so logical. Abitibi-Témiscamingue is a true fishing paradise, and we ought to proclaim it high and loud. Tourisme Abitibi-Témiscamingue is particularly proud that the exceptional quality of fishing and its many outfitting operations are offered such a great showcase in Quebec and the United States on one episode of Cyril Chauquet's show. We are confident that this kind of exposure with this seasoned expert will make Abitibi-Témiscamingue's fishing paradise known across America and worldwide", says Tourisme Abitibi-Témiscamingue's Director General Randa Napky. The episode about Abitibi-Témiscamingue will be broadcasted on Canal Évasion in spring 2010. On the menu, Pourvoirie Dorval Lodge, the Dozois Reservoir, Pourvoirie Saint-Cyr Royal, the Obaska-Senneterre area, Pourvoirie l'Oasis, Refuge Pageau, Rapide-Danseur, Notre-Dame-du-Nord, Lake Kanawaga, Pourvoirie Réserve Beauchêne, the Harricana River, etc. Mordu de la pêche is Canal Évasion's most watched program. Fishing Adventurer is the second most popular program broadcasted on American TV channel ESPN2. Considering that the show is seen on many European channels and on espnoutdoors.com, it is to be expected that several millions of viewers will fall under the charm of Abitibi-Témiscamingue's undeniable fishing assets. The visit of Cyril Chauquet and his Mordu de la pêche crew was made possible thanks to the Fédération des pourvoiries du Québec and the outfitting operations of the region, who were extremely pleased to welcome them, share their secrets and, of course, tell "alleged and experienced" fish stories… More than ever Abitibi-Témiscamingue's fishing paradise will attract many fishing adventurers!
