A true institution in the cheese industry, La Vache à Maillotte – Fromagerie nordique is a choice destination for all gourmets. Abitibi’s cold nights and warm days give a unique, slightly sweet taste to the cow and sheep milk used by the northernmost cheese factory in Quebec. La Vache à Maillotte is known for its fabulous fresh Cheddar-type curds, blocks and tortillons (salty twists). Treat yourself with a selection of fine cheeses for which La Vache à Maillotte has won many awards, such as Allegretto (a Parmesan-type cheese made of sheep milk) or Fredondaine (often compared to Oka cheese).
