Festival des Guitares du Monde Abitibi-Témiscamingue
Rouyn-Noranda, May 28 thru June 4
This world-famous festival brings together the most talented guitarists from the Québec, Canadian and international scene in Rouyn-Noranda. It has made its reputation on the high-profile performances presented in small venues, where virtuosity as well as musical and cultural diversity are prominently displayed. With over than 90 concerts and activities on an 8-day timeline, the Festival brings great joy to music lovers from here and elsewhere.

Festival équestre et rodéo professionnel de La Sarre
La Sarre, June 9 thru 12
Come live the full cowboy experience in La Sarre in Abitibi-Ouest. Attend “Gymkhana” equestrian competitions that highlight the skill of the riders. A variety of other activities are also offered: Wild Time rodeo, wild horse riding with or without a saddle, wild bull riding, rodeo clowns, inflatable games, music shows, and other surprises for all.
Pow-Wow de Pikogan
Pikogan, June 11 thru 12
Pikogan’s Pow-Wow provides a fine opportunity to become acquainted with Anicinabe culture. The program includes many traditional dances and songs.
Guinguette Chez Edmund
Rouyn-Noranda, End of June thru End of August
Created at the initiative of the Emerging Music Festival in Abitibi-Témiscamingue (commonly known as FME), Guinguette Chez Edmund is an innovative and inspiring gathering place that enlivens the shores of lac Osisko in the summertime. You can attend free concerts, dance to the music of the region’s best DJs. Guinguette Chez Edmund serves simple dishes prepared with in-season products, natural wine, and spirits made in Quebec.

Winner of the Emerging Event Award of RouynNoranda city for its first edition in 2021, the FHE presents a vast program of its favorites emerging comedians and future star comedians.

Celebrate the start of summer in Val-d’Or during a week full of fun and festive activities! On the menu: performances by Quebec’s greatest stand-up comedians on the outdoor site of La Cité de l’Or, newcomers on the comedy scene, a show featuring anglophone stand-up comedians and many surprises.

Festival de la relève indépendante musicale en Abitibi-Témiscamingue (FRIMAT)
Val-d’Or, July 21 thru 23
FRIMAT promotes new artists from Abitibi-Témiscamingue and Nord-du-Québec. FRIMAT celebrates music, offering a variety of shows in a festive and warm atmosphere. FRIMAT is a 3-day event where passionate people get an opportunity to discover each other and share.
Festival Mudra
Rouyn-Noranda, July 22 thru 24
The Mudra Festival is a three-day outdoor sport and cultural event that proposes a wide range of activities and workshops, including yoga, meditation, circus arts, and others, all complemented by enjoyable camping or lodge experience. Activities start very early in the morning and end at sunset. We want to help people cultivate the art of good and healthy living through sports events and inspiring experiences.

Rodéo du camion
Notre-Dame-du-Nord, July 29 thru 31
Rodéo du camion is well known for its extraordinary draw and amazing heavy truck pull competitions (loaded or not). Other events and attractions include musical shows, a public market, show and shine, parade of over 400 trucks, entertainment, and amusements for children. A must-attend family event!

Foire gourmande de l’Abitibi-Témiscamingue et du Nord-Est ontarien
Ville-Marie, August 12 thru 14
The Foire gourmande is indisputably a must-attend summer event. Let yourself be tempted by the variety of delicious regional products offered by the exhibitors, the music performances, the stunning landscape of Baie des Pères and Lake Témiscamingue, and the wide range of festive activities taking place under the big tent or elsewhere in Ville-Marie. The FME features about a hundred artists and groups from the national and international alternative music scene. It offers intimate and festive concerts, musical experiences set in a spectacular urban scenography, and non-programmed surprises. The festival also welcomes over a hundred Candian and international industry professionals.
