Coop de l’Arrière-Pays

Bringing together and stimulating the community around the nature-adventure development, the Coop de l’Arrière-pays offers you the chance to discover the diversity of Temiscamingue with ease. An experience facilitator, the Coop puts at the disposition of the population and the visitors specialized outdoors material such as canoes, bicycles, as well as camping and safety equipment. Well equipped, the Coop proposes diversified activities, with guided or self-guided adventures on its territory. You can paddle, pedal, climb, and discover the nature via unique and responsible experiences, all the while being safe. Let yourdelf be charmed by our great outdoors!

Location des 3 lacs offers pontoon, kayaks, fishing kayaks, pedal boat and paddle boards rental to allow you to explore an entire network of waterways. There is more than 30 km to discover between lakes Preissac, Fontbonne and Chassignole.


Mawey SUP

Mawey Sup is a new company that offers paddle board rentals with all the necessary equipment for transportation, safety on the water and maintenance of the equipment. Several services offered: introduction to yoga on a board, group outings during full moon or sunset. Also hiking, paddling and yoga events. The duration of rental can vary according to each user.


SUP AT École de paddleboard

SUP AT is a paddleboarding school offering private group paddleboard beginner’s classes, mobile services, custum
packages and equipment rental.


Camp de base Abitibi

Camp de base Abitibi specializes in outdoor and adventure tourism, focusing on the discovery of, training in and development of rock and ice climbing. The company provides guides, instructors, equipment rental services and infrastructures development throughout Abitibi-Témiscamingue.

Parc national d’Aiguebelle

Walk over 2.7 billion years, at the very place where the waters part. Parc national d’Aiguebelle is the custodian of a rich natural and cultural heritage. Several hiking trails lead to a suspended bridge across a fault-lake, to a huge spiral staircase erected alongside an impressive escarpment or to a fire watchtower. Equipment rental is available on-site.

In winter, marked trails welcomes cross-country skiing and snowshoeing enthusiasts.

Parc national d’Opémican

Paddling on Kipawa River and Lake, climbing the cliffs skirting Lake Témiscamingue, gathering around an
open fire under the protective dome of tall pine trees, and listening to fascinating Anicinabek legends… The “Découverte de la Pointe Opémican” is a prime destination for the entire family. Features include a playground and trails accessible for all users. Also, nature lovers will be pleased with the new “Aventure de la rivière Kipawa” sector.

Réserve faunique La Vérendrye

With its immense territory (12,589 km2) and its wealth of water resources (more than 4,000 lakes), Réserve faunique La Vérendrye is a dream destination for fishing enthusiasts, canoe-camping fans and outdoor lovers. It is accessible via three tourist reception points. The north entrance is located in our region, 57 km south of Val-d’Or. Other services available include fishing, camping, cottage rental and fishing packages.

Refuge Pageau

The story that will unfold as you follow the woodentrail began more than 30 years ago. It is the story of the Pageau family and their incredible relationship with animals. Refuge Pageau gives shelter to injured, sick or orphaned wildlife, provides them care and when possible returns them to the wild. You will see moose, wolves, white-tail deer, racoons, prey birds and many small orphans making short or long stays at the Refuge.

Forêt récréative de Val-d’Or

The trails of this recreational forest site, covering 50 sq. km, are used year-round by mountain bikers,
runners, hikers, motocross and quad riders, snowmobilers, cross-country skiers, snowshoers and wild berry pickers. The welcome centre, inaugurated in January 2012, is open throughout the year and offers many amenities in a warm, modern setting.

Parc-Aventure Joannès

A visit to Parc-Aventure Joannès offers hours of thrills and fun. Come take a breath of fresh air while gliding down a zip line at the Arbre-en-Arbre aerial park (age 7+). Several other activities for the whole family include: giant maze, challenge course, giant foosball, and mini-golf in forest.
